Prime Minister Harper Visits Costa Rica – Makes a Splash
Believe it or not, Costa Rica is Canada's largest trading partner in Central America. In late August of this year, Prime Minister Stephen Harper visited Costa Rica as part of a 4 country tour of Central America. Harpers primary goal of the trip was to encourage further trade and strive to achieve further growth. "Our government has focused on expanding and enhancing market access to create jobs, economic growth and opportunities for Canadians. The Americas remain a key region of increasing economic prosperity and entrepreneurialism," said Harper. One of the key fallouts of this trip was a new Costa Rica - Canada Air Travel Agreement that will see a dramatic increase of direct flights from Canada, particularly western Canada. One of the key supporters of this agreement is Westjet, now planning on offering direct service from Calgary and Vancouver early in 2012. This is great news for all of our owners, not just the ones from the frozen tundra's of western Canada. With such easy access provided to so many westerners, we are sure to see an increase of western Canadian and American tourists in 2012 and 2013 as a direct result, and thus increasing the demand of rentals of properties in the coming years. Yaa hooo! |
